WWKIP HONOLULU 2006

I should have taken more photos. I resisted the siren song of the spinning wheel (for now, anyway). It was a lovely day to be outdoors, and we might try meeting at a park again this summer.

Thewheel

For someone resisting the charms of the spinning wheel, I certainly took a lot of photos of it. In fact, all the photos I have include the spinning wheel. I am not interested in the spinning wheel. I am not enchanted by how Keohinani carried it to the park in a bag, set it up quickly, and at the end of the day, broke it back down to store flat in the carry bag again. Sure, she managed to spin two full bobbins and give a few lessons with a drop spindle as well as the wheel, and everyone who tried it had fun. Must…not…spin…have…too…much…wool…

oh that spinning wheel does look lovely doesn’t it! i checked out pictures taken by acornbud and also checked out keohinani’s site – looks like i missed a good one! another meet at a park this summer sounds promising?

well, any time you want to borrow the wheel or a spindle, feel free. i’ll even let you pick some fiber from my fiber stash to play with. :) i have mostly corriedale and merino in either white or jewel colors for now…you could always use it as pillow stuffing, you know. and who doesn’t love fluffy pillows?

I’m so sad that I couldn’t go. Sounds like you all had a lot of fun!
