<description>Thanks Angela! I had fun using all the different yarns, and have ideas for more.
Hi Melinda! The pattern uses basic crochet stitches - chains, single crochet, and double crochet. It&#039;s a simple pattern if you know how to do those stitches and understand how the rows are worked. There are good references you can use to learn the basics; I recommend the book Teach Yourself Visually: Crochet by Cecily Keim and Kim Werker, and there are some good tutorials over at About.com: Crochet (crochet.about.com).
If you have never, ever crocheted before, you may want to take on a small practice project or two first. As you get more comfortable with the process, things like your yarn tension can change and you could wind up with a scarf that looks a bit different at each end. Do you know anyone who crochets and would be interested in sitting down with you and walking you through the process? Sometimes it&#039;s much easier to see it in action than try to work off of words.
Hope that helps!

<description>I have never crocheted before but I love this scarf! Would it be ok for a first-time crocheter?
